Admire Nugget 53.2g

$370.00

  • Meteorite Type: Pallasite
  • Weight: 53.2 grams
  • Approximate Measurements: 41 mm x 32 mm x 27 mm
  • Additional Information: This Admire nugget is the product of stabilization, a process where an unstable meteorite is subjected to reverse electrolysis. After the process is complete and unstable material has been removed, the now-stable meteorite takes the shape of a “nugget,” similar to this piece. Meteorite enthusiasts believe “nuggets” could be the shape a pallasite asteroid has in space before entering Earth’s atmosphere.

Description

At Aerolite, we love all pallasites –but Admire is quite close to our hearts. Its name made waves when hosts Geoff Notkin and Steve Arnold pulled a hefty 223-pound “Alpha” (Admire) pallasite out of the ground on Season Two, Episode One of Meteorite Men. Not to worry! That monster remains intact. These “nuggets” are from the same strewnfield but an altogether different rock. “Nuggets” are created when the pallasite is being stabilized; they truly look like “visitors from outer space.”
