This hefty silicate specimen is accompanied by an ASU card. At some point in the original complete masses journey, the exterior was coated with a lacquer like substance to protect it. The fact that this large specimen clearly shows lacquer on one face tells us that is was part of the exterior of the original mass and it is possible that Nininger, or member of his team, applied it.
