Arispe is an iron meteorite from Sonora, Mexico classified as an octahedrite. Octahedrites have a crystal structure that resembles an octahedron; when cut and polished, they display intersecting lines of lamellar kamacite. The type specimen, coming in at 272 pounds, was found in the mountains about 15 miles northwest of the Arispe town. Pieces of the Arispe meteorite were acquired by Harvey H. Nininger between 1927 and 1953. Sometime later, between 1910 and 1912, a large 122 kg mass was found being used as an anvil in Hermosillo, Sonora.
