Description
NWA 15468 is a mysterious OC4-melt breccia found at an undisclosed location in Mali in 2022. This is an extraordinarily rare classification and it tells quite the story. Melt breccias are rock fragments that have been cemented together by liquid impact melt, which forms as veins and cools rapidly as glass. This meteorite is particularly unique—it has G chondrite “affinities.” G chondrites contain high metal and reduced silicates and are a fairly rare classification.
