Along with Esquel, Imilac is one of the great pallasites. When large individuals are cut and polished, they reveal gorgeous gold and green crystals suspended within a nickel-iron matrix. In its purest form, olivine is also known as the semi-precious gemstone peridot, so pallasites literally contain gems from outer space
