Description

The majesty and mystery of our moon has fascinated human beings since the dawn of civilization. Early humans used the Moon as a timepiece; her changing faces kept track of the seasons. She regularly appeared in cave paintings as ancient peoples learned art and desired to describe the natural world around them.
In Ancient Rome, the Moon was also referred to as “Luna,” the Roman goddess who was the divine embodiment of the bright orb in the night sky, often presented as the female counterpart of the Sun, Sol. Luna is still the root for English words like “lunar,” and the Moon is a symbol of mysticism and opulence. “Selene,” which we’ve named this delicate pendant, is the Greek goddess of the Moon. She was born of Hyperion and The, and was the sister of the sun god, Helios and the dawn goddess Eos. She’s depicted as a powerful feminine figure who drives a chariot across the heavens; the personification of the Moon itself.
Meteorites are very rare, and lunar meteorites account for only about 0.5 percent of all meteorites and are several times more scarce than the most precious terrestrial gemstones.
Please see measurements for size. Each pendant is custom made, and takes two weeks to create. Please be patient. Yours will be similar to the one photographed, but not exactly the same.
